Evacuation Procedures

Security incident

In the event of a security incident there are two levels of lockdown procedure, Yellow and Red Drill. This will be announced via our tannoy system.

Staff will follow the procedures detailed below, and supervise students to do the same, awaiting further instructions at all times.

The Critical Incident Team (SLT/Premises Management) will undertake any investigations necessary and call the emergency services if required.

Staff will reassure students and encourage them to keep calm and quiet.

Staff will keep an accurate register. Students may be placed in a classroom that is not their normal group.

  • Students not in classrooms (i.e. corridors, sports field, break areas) must go to the nearest staffed classroom or sports hall

  • Reception staff must move to the main office and secure the dividing door
  • All personnel must remain in their space until instructed to do otherwise
